yearnings unfulfilled
such as the want to be loved
a want that can ache

the want for someone...
a companion on the walk
footsteps that echo

wanting acceptance
whether deserving or not
shortcomings allowed

the want to belong
worthy to draw attention
to cast a shadow

such wants and others
blended and mixed together…
are these loneliness

...or being human
having human desires
in a human way

wants and desires
loneliness not bred by these
being nature’s way

it is attachment...
feeding, holding, indulging
wanting in itself

attachment to wants
begets feelings unwanted
loneliness but one
